Hello,
I am in the process of building a non-load-bearing interior wall in the house and have encountered a slight problem... when we test-fitted the ceiling plate against the ceiling, we noticed that the ceiling is quite uneven, bowing both this way and that. Nothing that is usually noticeable but became very apparent now...
The ceiling is gypsum, and above it are wooden beams. We will align one of these ceiling beams with the ceiling plate on the interior wall, which is wood 40x95. What is the easiest way to solve this? Borrow a strongman to push the ceiling up or insert wedges between the ceiling plate and the gypsum ceiling so that the ceiling plate is at least level? Breaking open the ceiling and straightening it is unfortunately not an option. It should be noted that it is an old wooden house. All tips are welcome! Thanks in advance!
