Hi, I’m going to plaster some outer corners (external door reveal) in leca with c-mortar.

The easiest way would be to nail battens to plaster against, but is there a specific nail that is usually used in plaster/leca? I don't want to crack the corners. I have a bunch of cut nails that might work? However, I've seen in video clips that some people use a large nail that isn't nailed all the way in, but is combined with some form of metal bracket that presses the batten against the wall...

Putshake, I find them easier than spikes as the lathing can be adjusted. Two metal putshakes with curved ends, used for adjusting battens, lying on a white background.

Spot on, thanks!
Considering how thick they are (7mm), one wonders if they need to be nailed into a joint between the blocks? Leca is really porous, after all.

I usually use 8 mm screws. They are easy to unscrew once the plastering is done and hold like a rock in leca (or lightweight concrete/ytong)...

Ok, should be enough when you only have a few corners to polish, even if the hooks seem very practical.
