I was planning to tile around a bathtub and thought about building it up with leca blocks.
What I'm wondering is the best way to attach the first blocks to the floor.

The floor is a concrete floor in the basement.
I drilled a couple of 12mm holes in the floor and corresponding ones in the bottom blocks. I inserted a couple of 8 mm rebar pieces and then mortared the first layer, ensuring everything was level, and let it cure for a day. Then it felt like it was quite well anchored to the floor.
