I'm going to start tearing down some of our laundry room, which has tiles on the walls. The house was built in '68, and I believe the tiles were added much later, but I have no way to know for sure. I'm wondering if I should be concerned about the possibility of asbestos in the tile adhesive. One clue about the timing of the tiles is that there are white plastic tile spacers in the joints. So, one question is whether I can be sure the tiles are sufficiently "modern" based on that, or were plastic spacers also used in times when asbestos might have been used in the adhesive?

Picture ? You can probably determine the age of the tiles without the col-14 method ;)

Here is a picture of the tiles and a close-up of one of the crosses

Looks like a homemade build from the 90s-00s I guess, so no as-best in that fix if so.
