Hi,
We are planning to build a 1.5-story L-shaped house of about 350 sqm in eastern Skåne and want it to be "just right." It should be energy-efficient, heated in an "ecological" way (considering pellets), and somehow built for the future...
When I look at the construction techniques available today, you can quickly see that slab-on-ground, waterborne underfloor heating, and walls in lightweight concrete or Leca are the norm....
I have a slight suspicion that the construction industry is a bit slow to adopt new techniques/research, etc. (not just in Sweden, in Norway, 99% of all homes are still built with direct electric heating), and I thought I'd check with you in this forum to see if there is something "new" I should consider...
I have read about ecogrund, where heat is blown via an air-to-air heat pump into an insulated crawl space which then heats an uninsulated joist.
I also see that steel studs are sold; can you build your house with a steel frame? Is it good, cheap, stupid, etc.?
Do you have any good "basic" tips for someone who doesn't know but wants to very much?
A
