Hi, a rather silly question but I can't stop thinking about it. So this is mostly to reassure myself that I haven't done anything wrong.

In my house from 1966 (modular house), the window casings were made with what I assume are pretty hefty boards (see picture).

During renovation, I redid the casing, and then I started wondering whether it might be part of the load-bearing structure of the wall (I don't think it is), but I can't help thinking about it since the wood used for the original casing is quite substantial. I recased with MDF boards that I painted because we wanted as narrow edges as possible between the wall and the window, without trim. (See picture 2)

So have I done something stupid?

House info:
Modular house from '66 with a built-up upper floor and vertical plank wall with sawdust insulation.
Thanks in advance
