Hello
Does anyone know if there is any difference between wall and floor chipboards, besides thickness and tongue and groove? Is the floor chipboard more compact and stiffer? I've cut up my existing 19 mm chipboard floor and added some joists.
Today, 19 mm floor chipboard is not available. Can I use 19 mm wall chipboard instead? I don't need tongued and grooved boards.

Sure, the chipboard is more stable. Are you sure you don't need grooved joints? I'm pretty sure I would regret it if I laid anything other than flooring chipboard on the floor.

I have cut up parts of the existing chipboards and rerouted the drainage. I have now reinforced the framework and added noggings so that all joints rest on a joist. The existing chipboards are 19 mm, so it would be easiest to lay the same thickness. Although I'm going to apply self-leveling compound on top, so 22 mm also works.

19 mm is too little in the floor, I would guess you had some flex before. Have you adjusted so you have cc 30 now or?

The studs are set at 40 cm centers with noggings at 120 cm centers. There is no flex in the floor. It's actually really stable compared to other houses I've had. 19 mm at 40 cm centers must be at least as stiff as 22 mm at 60 cm centers!
