Aluminium stair nosing for outdoor stairs?

We have renovated our concrete staircase at the entrance and are planning to put tiles on it. The bricklayer suggested that we should have stair nosing. It will surely make it easier for him and protect the edges, but since the tiles are quite dark, we also think it would look nice with an aluminum nosing and the steps would be more visible in the dark. We went to Hornbach and found a trim in matte aluminum that we liked. The salesperson said it was suitable for outdoor use. When we went back to buy them, another salesperson said they absolutely couldn't be used outdoors because they would become unattractive due to air pollution. Does anyone know if such stair nosings would work and maybe have personal experience with them?

I would probably agree with the other seller. Aluminum oxidizes and becomes unattractive outdoors, and you can't have any protective coating on the metal either, as it wears off when you walk on it.

some tile series have stair nose tiles with patterned anti-slip.
Otherwise, I don't think it matters much if an aluminum strip gets worn and scratched. It is a staircase that people walk on, so all materials become more or less worn over time. Tiles less, aluminum strip more

Aluminum and cement-based materials do not work well together outdoors. It leads to unsightly corrosion. Additionally, aluminum is soft, so it wears out very quickly.

There are, however, stainless steel stair nosings and tile edging strips that should be more durable. A quick search online yielded, among others, these two.
