Hello!

I'm planning to build a new railing for the stairs and would like some input on how I intend to attach the posts to the concrete stairs.

The idea is to have the posts on the side of the stairs to utilize its width, and I have two options I've been considering. Either attach the posts directly to the concrete (with sill insulation in between) or use this type of post shoe:
Steel post bracket for concrete stair railing installation, featuring a square socket and mounting holes for side attachment to the stair side.

A third option is this type of post shoe, which is placed flat on the steps, but it takes up space:
Metal post bracket for securing posts to concrete, featuring a square design with four mounting holes on the base plate. Suitable for 70x70 posts.

What do you think? Feel free to suggest more options if you have any.

The posts should be 70x70.

Thanks in advance!

I vote for the upper post base.

I vote for the top bracket shoe.
Yes, that is the one I'm most likely to use.

I am also looking for these, does anyone know?

XL bygg has both variants in its range.

Can't find anything on the website. In which store have you seen this? (upper variant)

Last saw them in Umeå (not south) when they had exactly those on the patio outside the doors and the seller said they had them when I was considering them myself.
