Air leaking in through electrical outlets

How can I seal electrical outlets to prevent air leakage through them?

What are the boxes and wall?

I have metal boxes and I'm trying to seal them as best as I can around the drywall when I renovate, together with an extension ring.

Interesting question though. I never seem to get it completely tight

Don't really know where you mean the air is leaking in. Personally, I have sealed boxes that weren't tight with sealant.

Could there be a cold draft through the pipes?
I'm thinking if the pipes run through the cold part of the wall, it can happen, I've noticed...
