There's certainly some product made of different material. But a common diffusion barrier is usually polyethylene. Cheap and well-proven.

The plastic is a polyethylene and an additive is added to make the plastic more age-resistant, also coloring the plastic blue/green.
Do not recommend polypropylene plastic for this purpose as it is stiffer and cracks more easily.
