I'm a bit confused here about what applies regarding moisture barriers between two floors. I'm expanding my current house, and it will be in two stories. The top floor may be unused initially and therefore colder than the lower floor. There is an intermediate floor made of laminated beams and chipboard, etc., between the floors. I'm now wondering if one should have a durable plastic on any side of the flooring, and if so, on which side?
