In hopes of saving myself the cost for anticimex, I'm wondering if there is a consensus here about this dried moisture damage.

It could be something that spilled from above, rain coming in from an open window, or an old leak from an older bathroom. The current bathroom is from 2010.

From the drill holes visible in the pictures, there came sawdust that was completely dry.

Is it possible to draw conclusions from these pictures, or will I not be able to sleep well at night without anticimex drilling from below and measuring? Dry water damage in corner of room with visible boreholes and scattered sawdust, questioning cause related to rain or leakage. Corner of a room with dried water damage on the floor. The surface is peeling, with visible discoloration and potential signs of an old leakage. Damp damage in a corner with peeling paint and mold on the walls and floor, possibly due to leakage or water infiltration from above. Close-up of a dried water damage area with chipboard and sawdust, showing holes and potential leakage marks, possibly from old bathroom leaks. Dry rot damage on wooden floor beams with drill holes and scattered sawdust, possibly from old leaks or spills, marked by red outline. View attachment 404936

  • Plan drawing with highlighted section of bathroom, showing boreholes and possible water damage location.
If you have a moisture meter, you can insert it and measure. That way you at least get an indication if it's wet or not.
