Advice needed, stone or wooden stairs?
House built in 1893. Light gray.
Removed old damaged stone steps.
Now I'm considering...
Having a new stone step cast, or...
building a wooden step?
I have old carved heavy railings that I of course also want to put back.
What will be the nicest and best?
If stone step, how is it done and what material should be used to get the best possible looking and functional step?

I always advocate for a stone staircase. I've seen too many newly built wooden staircases that seem like awkward, hastily assembled stairs, reminiscent of those in front of a construction site container. The worst are the ones made from pressure-treated wood. A proper granite staircase is expensive but solid and reliable.
I also vote for a stone staircase similar to the one you had before. What kind of stairs do similar houses in your area have? It could be a source of inspiration and culturally and historically beneficial to maintain a style and material that is "correct" for the area.
Haha, after I had the old stone steps torn down, a wooden staircase was built in treated wood. I got help with this from a friend, but unfortunately, I've never really thought that the staircase fits in.
Granite staircase? How does one make such a thing and who does that? Do you mean a staircase entirely in stone, not one that's cast?
The neighboring houses aren't really the same style as mine, but the older ones have some form of stone staircase. Cast, I would think.
