Hello!

We live in an older log cabin with natural ventilation and hydronic underfloor heating.

I'm considering whether it would be possible to add insulation to the exterior walls between the room and the “kattvinden” (or whatever the space is called behind the inner wall and the outer wall). (See image)

Today, these inner walls are constructed as follows from the inside out:

Fiberboard/Tongue and groove wood/Insulation (type 100-150) (not measured) then there is tongue and groove wood on the outside facing the cold attic.

I'm wondering if you could simply add additional insulation on top of the board in the spaces between the studs. (Like adding 70mm extra) or could it cause moisture problems?

In that case, what kind of insulation can be placed there?
How much can you add without causing problems?
Risk of thermal bridging or other problems if you also choose to insulate the beams themselves?

Grateful for advice.

Best regards,
//Lars

Anyone got any tips?

Add 70mm and staple, e.g., windstop/air brake that holds it in place,
