Was going to plaster a bit on the ceiling in a place where I thought it was okay for it to become a bit smoother after plastering than the textured surface the rest of the ceiling has.

But accidentally plastered a bit sloppily, creating plaster islands outside the area I intended to plaster. So it ended up with smooth areas in the middle of the textured ones, and it doesn't look good.

The question is how to fix this, if it's possible to restore that textured surface again? And how to do it?

Here is a picture of the problem area:

Try stippling with thick paint using a stiff brush.

Mix some paint and spackle into a paste and dab it with a radiator brush to restore the textured surface.

1. What is an element brush, or like, what differentiates it from a regular paintbrush?
2. Doesn't the texture become a bit too pointy if you stipple? These textures are quite round in their structure.

You might use a roller instead of a brush, if you're lucky you'll get rounder bumps then. :)

Element brushes are usually a bit harder. Paint after you have stippled so it doesn't show.
