I would need a constructor's help regarding how to "calculate" load distribution on, for example, a house

Columns, walls, roof, wind, possibly snow load

Manufacturers of glue-laminated beams/columns have designers who can quickly and easily calculate and dimension, contact them (through building supply stores, etc). Moelven, Setra, etc.
