Hi Rickard,
What is salning?

Salning is really just an aesthetic filler piece that fills the gap that can occur between the frame and the trim if the frame is not as thick as the wall.

100mm is really close to what a 70mm frame lands on, so it's not certain that anything is needed at all.

Why strive to have a 70 mm frame when the wall is 198 mm?

A sliding door for 70mm studs does not have a 70mm wide frame but one that is ≈96mm or even wider if it's for double panels. The wall was apparently not 198mm but the original poster corrected and wrote 100mm.

Should be said that I'm not a carpenter.
But I would have ordered the wider frame if you're going to keep the existing wall, as there will be less material needed to extend the frame to reach the wall.
Thank you so much for the suggestion!

100mm is really close to where a 70mm frame lands, so it might not be necessary at all.
Thank you, thank you so much for your explanation! I'm learning every day bit by bit.

Exactly! as Rickard mentioned, I corrected myself. Among everything I'm learning, it includes measuring calmly and with the right tools.
