2"4" that has been outside under plastic, a little damp, can it be used?
To prevent the wood from warping too much, I left it outside with plastic covering it. However, water has leaked in here and there, so it's not completely dry.
The question is whether it's safe to use, or should I put it in the garage to dry, or should everything be discarded?
I brought one inside before, sawed, screwed it up, and noticed that it looked sooty. I don't know if it's dirt or the beginning of mold...

It will probably warp terribly, that is, become very skewed when it dries. Otherwise, there are no problems as long as you don't build it in before it has dried.

If it is to be used indoors, it must be dry. Bringing it into the garage works well, but stack it straight and neatly with spacing strips and some weight on top; otherwise, as mentioned, it will warp.

Lay them flat with Masonit strips as spacing so they dry in a controlled manner. It's the spacing that is the trick to keeping them flat. Otherwise, it was correct to think about laying them out to dry outside. Space them here as well.Yrrol said:
