1970s house water leak from pipe in balcony? Heavy rain
Hello,
I have a 70s house with a balcony "built into" the roof on the upper floor, meaning it doesn’t stick out from the house but is like a "hole" in the roof on the long side of the house, where the balcony is—a typical seventies house. On the balcony, there is a small hole about 4.5-5 cm in diameter where the water that collects on the balcony is supposed to drain.
When it rained extremely heavily yesterday, water came inside the house at our dining area, but it didn't come from the ceiling; it came from the underside of a wall. The balcony is located above the dining area. The pipe on the balcony doesn’t seem to exit the house at the roof, so we suspect the pipe goes inside the house, and it might be this pipe that has leaked. However, it would be a very strange construction if that’s the case, but we can’t see it being any other way. Does anyone have experience with this? Could it be true that the pipe runs inside the wall down from the balcony to divert the water?
Since it happened very late on a Friday afternoon, we have to wait until Monday morning to call a roofer, carpenter, etc., to investigate the exact fault. Curious to hear what you think it might be. To add, the house is built of brick, and the brick row outside where the water leaked now looks damp/wet, only the bottom brick row and not all the way up. It’s visible that something is wet there… Help!!??
Note we turned off the water inside the house, so we know it was from the rain and not from any water pipe, etc.

Thanks for your response, here come the pictures
In picture 1, you can see the balcony, the window where the dining area is, and the lower brick row which, after yesterday's storm and water leak, looks dirty/wet.
Picture 2 and 3 are from the drain hole on the balcony.
Picture 4 is from the dining area where the red circle by the floor is where the water leaked in under the wall section in the corner.
Best regards
It's probably the case that you have a (beginning) blockage in that pipe... there's no strainer or anything over it, so a lot of dirt has probably gotten in over the years.
I would have tried to find someone who can film it, or alternatively find out where the pipe goes and flush it from the back.
