Hi,

I am planning to install 160 sqm of finely sawed white-glazed slatted paneling from Baseco on interior walls (a carpenter will install an additional 165 sqm on the ceiling) and now the question is whether I should use 16g, 1.6mm, or 18g, 1.2mm, brad nails?

I will be using a pneumatic or gas/battery-powered nail gun and will shoot into the paneling if possible... with just about a 3mm gap.

I would take 16g.

For the ceiling, you should have at least 16g.

Have nailed my entire roof with 18g, holding like a rock!

The carpenters are using 16g for the roof, it's the walls that I install myself.

Two for 16g and one for 18g :-)
What can each nail gun be used for when building other things?

Updating the thread a bit.
The panel will be nailed hidden, i.e., 45 degrees in the groove. That means there will only be one nail in the width of the panel, but on the other hand, isn't skew nailing more secure?
