Is it possible to lay laminate in a room where the entire room slopes, but with the same angle across the whole room - 15mm over 3m. Or is leveling compound or raising the floor to even out the surface what's needed? I don't notice the slope myself when I walk on the floor, and the laminate will sit flat, just with a slope of about 7mm for each board. But maybe there are other variables that I haven't considered?

If the surface is flat, it will be fine. There should not be any hollows or, even worse, "ridges" on the subfloor.

@Johan456 Thanks for the answer. There are some dips and ridges since we're talking about boards. The difference, at worst, is 4-5mm, and this is over, like, the same board, but I thought masonite would solve this. Or do we need something more robust? Or maybe just sand it down?

Masonite is the classic. It just gets really annoying when the next person who wants to renovate has to pull out all the nails (don't screw!). Sand it down if you have the time and energy.

We'll see if I become considerate or greedy and selfish... :)
