I am wondering how to tell if there is asbestos in mortar or bricks? We have a pile of old bricks on the property that needs to be cleared away. However, I'm not daring to touch them before I have some idea if any asbestos risk exists. I have no prior knowledge regarding this, so I really appreciate any knowledge you can share. I am uploading pictures of the brick pile and hoping that someone knowledgeable can determine from these if there appears to be anything containing asbestos. I have no knowledge of what the bricks were previously used for before they were demolished.
There is no tradition (or function) in mixing asbestos into regular mortar. Asbestos has, for example, been used in niche products such as tile adhesive.

Ok, sloppy to warn about it equivalently to the other asbestos threats on the Swedish Work Environment Authority's website, I think. As a cautious person, I naturally take warnings seriously However, I do understand that they need to mention it if it has Ever existed.

One can never rule out that some bricklayer thought it was great to throw in some asbestos fiber in the mortar. The mortar was mixed locally before. But it's not standard in any way.
