Yes, it's great. I've been gluing all fall with one of those. The gel is good because it adheres to surfaces where the thin superglue gets absorbed.
For plastic sheets, I heard that there are glues that react with the plastic and "weld" it together. I've looked a bit at Loctite, but their product pages were hard to navigate. Also, I don't know much about plastic types either, styrene, PVC, ABS, poly-something, and all the others. They might require different glues.
I would like this bonding to be neat, sturdy, and permanent for over 10 years.
