How long should we let the pärlspont stay inside before installation? It has been in our carport and we have primed it before. It is 70*13.

Wood doesn't dry outdoors this time of year with high humidity.

How do I do that then? Set it up and be happy? It's not that wide, so it means fewer gaps.

Set it up, once it's in place and painted, it will be fine. Solid wood is a natural material and moves slightly depending on the season. If you want to avoid this, you should choose a panel made of another material.

I installed the beadboard in the living room in front of the TV and let it sit for 2 months, mounted it, and two pieces were missing. I fetched more from the barn where it had been lying for over two years.

Result: the ones I let sit indoors beforehand have not shrunk, and the three pieces I took in from "outside" have shrunk 3-5 mm. So, I'm going to remove these three pieces and put up new ones so that it looks OK.

If you have painted them before installation, it will be marginally visible.

If you don't want gaps, you'll have to take the boards to the tip and buy yourself some beadboard paneling of MDF on the way home...

It cracked. So never again in the autumn. Still waited quite a while and I'm using a dehumidifier.
