We really don't know anything, but we have understood that our supplier doesn't deliver with double internal walls. However, they are extra insulated. We've gotten the idea that it's good to have double walls if you hang heavy items, and some say it doesn't show much when you've hung things. The thing is, this option becomes very expensive, and my father-in-law says it's not necessary because there are "mollyplugg" and everything. What do those of you who know think? Should we add this cost to an already strained budget?

double board material in the walls then....if it is plasterboard and chipboard I think?

Depending a bit on the cost, but I would never build a wall with just single drywall.
After having lived in an apartment with such walls mixed with concrete walls, I never want to have such walls again. Sure, there are special plugs for drywall, but it's always tricky, and you never really feel secure about whether things will stick. Additionally, there are large ugly metal pieces left in the old holes if you move something. A regular screw hole is much easier to repair.

Sure, on an already tight budget, it can feel difficult to add something that doesn't "show." But you'll still benefit from it in the end. Mollyplugs have their place, but do you really want to pull one out for every little thing you want to hang on the wall? A 13mm plasterboard can't hold anything. Maybe a taped-up drawing :)

Then, if you ever change what's hanging on your walls, you'll have the problem of a bunch of stylish mollyplugs everywhere.

So the short answer is yes, it's worth it. It also makes it quieter inside as the extra board dampens sound to some extent.

We haven't checked the price on it, the seller just said it would be quite expensive, especially the exterior walls. Does anyone know how much it might cost, or has anyone chosen it themselves? Thanks for good answers, then it might have to be double, you can have double in the living room and common room where you spend a lot of time....

Know several people who have gotten flat-screen TVs and when they drilled into the wall, they've found... simple drywall.... It takes a ton of molly anchors to mount such things then, + the wall ends up looking like Swiss cheese....
Investing in double layers is my advice.... Maybe even with an OSB board behind and a drywall in front....
If that's possible, that is...

My partner and I are going to build a house soon, and using double sheet material is a must! I'm so tired of concrete walls where you have to plug, etc.! It's the same with drywall, but there you also have to worry about it not holding the weights.
I think it costs an extra 20,000-25,000 SEK, but that's probably worth it because I would feel "penny wise, pound foolish" afterward when I'm cursing that I can't attach screws to the walls.
Sure, it's a lot of money, but in the whole context of building a house, it feels like a drop in the ocean.

I have a "pretend budget" for our upcoming self-built stick-built house. "Pretend" because we don't actually know what the house will look like, so the budget is based on a fictional 2-story house of 160 square meters.

In that budget, the cost for OSB boards (behind the drywall in every wall) is around 20,000 if I remember correctly. I think this cost is worth it every time, for all the reasons mentioned above.

Houses from a home manufacturer can unfortunately become quite a bit more expensive though. If they have volume production that is disrupted by extra options, it can sometimes become exorbitantly more expensive. I suggest you check what the additional cost will be, and as stated, if it is between 15,000-30,000, I wouldn't hesitate. Particle board behind is also OK, so if they prefer to use that...

Trivselhus charged an extra 30,000 for chipboard in all walls. This in a house of about 165 sqm.

Do not hesitate to add this, the house gets a much sturdier feel.

I have used chipboard/OSB boards throughout the house, I think it's worth every penny!
It may not be necessary in all walls, but it still feels good to know they're there!
