Hello all skilled forum members,
We are going to partition a room on the upper floor and are in the planning stage.
Now I’m wondering in what order things should be done and need some input from you.
The room today is about 30 square meters in floor area with a small walk-in closet. This is then on the upper floor as mentioned with slanted walls. The wall to the closet will be torn down and a new wall in the middle will be put up. In that wall, there is some electrical wiring for lighting in the closet. So my question is, should I first contact an electrician before demolishing, or should I demolish first, let the wires hang from the ceiling, and then contact an electrician to rewire?
A lot can be solved by oneself, but I don’t want to tackle electrical work even if one has basic knowledge.

I would have first cut the power, dismantled, and then insulated the conductors with wago 221 or similar.

Is it a recessed installation in pipes or surface-mounted?
Is there any junction box?

My suggestion is to cut the power, tear down the old wall, put up the new frame, and then bring in the electrician who will be able to do his entire job at once, including installing the new electricity.

But you can start by booking the electrician, so you'll know when he has time to come :-)

Hello
Thanks for the response. Great ideas!

This is what the wiring looks like (if I have chosen correctly that is)

Thanks for the input. Here comes another picture. The wall will go in the middle of the window section. The radiator then needs to be moved to the left and replaced with a smaller one. Has anyone done this before and knows what it might cost if a plumber does the job?
I'm considering doing it myself with the intended pipe fittings and surface-mounted installation.
