Hello, we are considering building a wooden staircase down to the basement. We want to use stringers, but it seems they are only available for 7 steps. We would need 9 or 10 steps (the height is 166cm, and the run should be at most around 300cm). Is there a way to modify the stringers? I'll show a picture of the basement entrance so you can get an idea.

Build your own so you can adjust them to perfectly fit your conditions. It's not something that is particularly difficult.

Might have to try that, I found a description on viivilla, which I can modify a bit to fit. It says to glue two 95X45 beams together and then cut out the stringer from it. However, I'm considering using a treated 45X220 beam and cutting a stringer from that. Is that a good idea?

The simplest way is to have an unbroken beam at the bottom and then cut triangles on top. I found this video that describes the simplest way to make stringers with a good explanation of how to determine suitable step depth and step height: https://svenska.yle.fi/a/7-1420530
