Wooden staircase directly on the rock

I am going to install a staircase from the terrace down onto bare rock. Stringers in pressure-treated wood. I plan to place them directly on the rock with roofing felt (or rather some sort of roofing tiles) in between. Will it work? Should I prepare the end grain in any special way? The drainage is good.

cuprinol or similar on the end grain. Since you are sawing there, you remove the impregnation otherwise

take 2 French 40 mm screws and screw them into the bottom as spacers, with these you can also adjust the height with.
