Have been looking for posts that fit in post base shoes that are 90mm? Seems like there are only 95mm posts and in that case 100mm post base shoes?
They are so-called post spikes that are supposed to be driven into the ground.
Is the idea to have 100mm post spikes for 95mm posts?
As mentioned, already have 90mm post spikes but can't find any posts that fit without modification...

Glulam is available in 90x90 if you happen to find more such post shoes.
Glued laminated timber post, so maybe there was nothing wrong with the post shoe, it might have been adapted to glulam.
You wrote that Jula's measurement was odd, but perhaps it was just adapted to another commonly occurring dimension.

Yes, exactly, that's probably it but it still feels quite odd because I guess that most post spikes are used for fences, gates, decks and similar and then it's usually pressure-treated that's used and that seems to mostly be available in 95mm... But even if you don't want pressure-treated, I don't see the point in buying glulam posts when you can instead buy the same post spike but in 96mm and then use regular posts..?JOW said:
