Hi, I am moving to a house with a basement with two bedrooms that have felt carpets. I would like to change to wooden floors and have an idea that I would like to get some feedback on. If you take U-steel studs that are normally used for wall studs, mount these on the floor and in them mount wood studs, meaning wood in steel, and otherwise leave the concrete free to breathe. Also ventilate the baseboards. Could this work considering the moisture? We've measured moisture but the meter showed no readings, the concrete foundation is probably uninsulated as the house was built in 1958. The house (brick fågelbrohus) is located on a hill and was re-drained 17 years ago. Best regards, Marie

Why don't you want to use a proven construction, like Platon?

I would like to, but I thought that Platon would plug it?!

Now I've read about Plato, it seems sensible! Thank you!:)

No, it is ventilated at the baseboard. There are also so-called Nivellgolv that solve the same problem.
