Previous owner has been lazy when putting up plasterboard upstairs and left the job half-finished. What is the smartest way to solve this? Preferably don't want to repaint the ceiling. Knock off existing moldings and put wider ones over?

  • Ceiling corner with incomplete drywall finishing and narrow trim, highlighting a gap and uneven edges, suggesting need for wider trim installation.

I would apply a white latex sealant. Or a thin trim list.

There are wider strips in cellplast that are easy to mount (except that three months of training are needed to achieve the miter in the corner at the sloped ceiling) and would fit over. But otherwise, I agree with just filling the gap.

Latex caulking is out because the gypsum is unevenly cut and the gaps are a bit too large. Bead trim might also be tricky.

They are quite small lists now, so it should be easy to find something a bit bigger to exchange them with.
