Which wood species for bathroom furniture?
Anyone have tips on wood types for bathroom furniture? It will include countertop, cabinet doors, and various holders in the same wood type. Preferably, it should be a darker wood but not prohibited tropical varieties.
Initially, we considered buying regular pine and staining it, but it risks being uneven. We've also thought about oak and using oil with darker pigments.
The countertop and the other pieces must be of the same wood/shade. I will be cutting and milling these myself.

Dark-stained oak would have been nice, but the risk is that it becomes unevenly stained. I've failed before. Therefore, I thought maybe I could oil with a dark oil. Apparently, there's something called coffee oil, but I haven't found any such oil.
Regarding teak, wenge, and walnut. Can you buy these materials as boards and strips somewhere? Edge-glued countertops are usually easy to find, but I also need pieces that are about 15*100 mm, and these should not be edge-glued.
