Considering the issue with exterior walls, are there tables for which strength class should be used? Exterior walls are normally designed for insulation and not for strength, so with 45x145 or upwards, it seems that it should suffice (we're talking about a single-story house 7.8x13.2 meters). However, you might not want to use Byggmax with waney edges either. Strength graded timber (checked at Hornbach) is not that insanely expensive either. Should we go for C12?

All load-bearing structural elements in the houses we build at my job are made from K24 lumber, although I suspect this might be somewhat over-engineered. K12 might be too weak, though; if you check the table available here http://www.traguiden.se/TGtemplates/popup1spalt.aspx?id=788&contextPage=181, you can have a house with a 145 joist in K14 grade and snow zone 3 that can be a maximum of 11.1 meters, and the joist can almost support 3.9 tons.

Thanks!

Just what I needed. It's east of Varberg so snow zone 1.5. With 45x145 even zone 2 works with my house measurements so C18 (easier to find than C14 at the building markets) is more than sufficient.
