Need to demolish the deck and figure out which parts are pressure-treated (or possibly treated in another way considered hazardous waste), both to dispose of them correctly at the recycling center and for the material inventory required for the demolition permit.

I'm unsure of what pressure-treated wood looks like when it's old. The deck was probably built over 30 years ago, but it might have been renovated at some point later. We’ve only lived here for three years.

In any case, nothing has that greenish color, except for the telephone pole piece and the piece on top of it. My guess is that the decking/flooring and possibly the joists/support beams in the framework are pressure-treated?

  • A wooden porch with white railing attached to a red house. The decking appears weathered, possibly indicating pressure-treated wood. Snow and shrubs are visible.
  • Deck corner with white railing and weathered wooden support posts; green duct-taped tube and red siding in background.
Are you going to tear everything down to the bottom and head to recycling, then take everything that's printed, you can't tell what's what when it's old.
