Hello, I am planning to build a house and am wondering which is the best (if there is a better brand) sill insulation between the concrete slab and the wooden studs?

Do you also put sill insulation under interior walls that stand on the slab?

Thanks a lot!

it might be enough with, e.g., double plastic strips just to be sure that moisture doesn't come from below.

You should use a sill paper between the wood and the foundation wall, and a plastic won't do. Sill paper is a thicker variant of tar paper which, under pressure from the wall above, will compress and adhere homogeneously to the wood and foundation wall.

If you want the best, it's sill rubber you should have, as it handles smaller unevenness and is easy to use..

It's meant for Lecablock, with raised grooves designed for them and not for a sill board.

No, they are not...

And then the sill will not rest on the entire surface as you show. It cannot be pressed down to create a flat installation as I see it.

How does sill paper solve unevenness? Not sure what you're after but tighter sill sealing is what you get compared to sill paper..

The rubber must surely get old long before the syllpapp? Feels spontaneously like a bad thing

The expected lifespan is over 50 years.
Sill paper is good in crawl space foundations and other masonry works where absolute tightness is not required.

I will believe those guarantees when and if the product has existed for 50 years. Also, are you then expected to replace the foundation every 50 years?

This is a sill sealing that has been around for a long time, invented sometime in the 50s if I remember correctly, EPDM is used in sewage and other critical seals and lasts over time, this is well known if you are informed.
I'll include a link you can read since you think I'm just making this up😉
Furthermore, sill paper is not sufficient in most exterior wall constructions simply because it does not seal tight and the cold draft follows...

How long is the lifespan of sillpapp?😉

The picture is a bit misleading. Probably to clearly simulate the position of the rubber. When the sill is anchored, it sinks down and becomes super tight. These work great.

Important to buy the right size so it matches the frame's dimensions.

Yes, and when the house weight has settled, it shapes itself excellently according to the existing foundation.
