Hi

I'm planning to renovate my caravan and want to rebuild a bed, and the weight and dimensions are quite important.

I've been going back and forth, and does anyone here know or have experience by any chance?

Is a wooden beam 20x45 mm as strong as construction plywood with the same dimensions?

And which weighs less?

I was thinking of a 90x200 cm bed with supports at each corner and one in the middle approximately. A 20x45 construction that you then lay slats on.

Wooden rule is a bit of a vague term, but if you take spruce of fine quality, it is somewhat more bend-resistant than plywood.
Spruce is about 10% lighter.
