For a long time, I have been searching high and low for a replacement for a track-mounted sealing strip for our older model PVC windows. The manufacturer has long been gone, and I've checked with window wholesalers and looked through catalogs from numerous sealing strip manufacturers.
I have not found much rubber strip intended for track mounting in extruded profiles. Yet, virtually every product based on profiles has a number of different strips of this type. Is it the case that all manufacturers of profile products have their own strips manufactured, or am I simply looking in the wrong place?
Does anyone have any tips or experience with having custom-made rubber strips?
The existing strip is in EPDM rubber and has simply started losing its elasticity, resulting in drafts. Should I use a different material, such as silicone?
