Where to find old planks like these?
This costs a little over 10,000 SEK. A bit overkill and a bit too long for my kitchen, so I thought I'd make a similar table. The base will be made of coarse malleable iron water pipes or some type of scaffolding material (though not easy to find either). The tabletop will be made of old worn planks. Perhaps not especially dirty like scaffolding planks but more just worn. Roughly sawn and chipped. Checked Blocket, Nacka byggnadsvård, etc., but can't find anything. Any tips?
Noted that Jula has started selling such pipe clamps that are quite stylish with bends and angles for building boathouses or similar.
Could it be suitable to use them for building the framework? Can't find them online and am a bit rushed! Can check more later...

Not meaning to hijack the thread now, but I'm a bit curious about Rivners.pinebar said:
Do they have good prices? Is there material worth having, I'm mostly interested in windows. They also mention they have new studs, what price range and quality are they at.
Thanks for the loan.
I finally made it to Jula now and they have pretty decent parts function-wise. But they look very cheap and plasticky. Not like their accompanying pipes that have a more worn look like construction scaffolding.slacker said:
Any other tips where to find pipe parts in something like iron with joints so you can assemble a frame that resembles the lower half of one like this:

Press and son and others who make covers for boats might have something that fits. It's a bit hard to see in the picture but it does resemble regular black iron pipe fittings, available for example at Rinkaby rör.
Tie together some planks that you tow behind the car...then leave them outside for a while.....
Not too shabby, I have a friend who buried his scout shirt a month ago for the right image. It does feel a bit fake though. And then there are the rounded/off corners on the brackets, it's not authentic.
Check if you have any farmers/forest owners in your circle of acquaintances... They usually have a little/a lot of farm-sawn timber scattered around waiting for tougher times.
Then I don't understand why one would want to rush the patina... It will come eventually anyway

ps or find a farm saw directly... Ds

The table in the picture looks like it has oak planks. I was looking for old worn planks with the right "patina" a while ago and wondered where on earth will I find this? I posted the question on Facebook and 20 minutes later I had a lead from someone who was replacing their floor in the barn. So throw out some inquiries here and there but you can't expect to find the right one immediately.
