I have a chimney built between 1930 and 1955, not sure exactly. Probably from the 50s. It has red bricks with a beveled edge, see picture. It might possibly be from Minnesbergs brickworks (now closed) but not sure.
Dimensions are approximately length 255 width 120 height 65 mm. Red building bricks. Does anyone know if it's possible to get hold of this or something similar? I need to replace about 20 bricks. Grateful for any tips. I've checked with several recycling companies in Southern Sweden without success. But I can buy from anywhere in the country, even all of Europe if necessary. New or old.
Fingers crossed for the forum's vast collective knowledge!
I don't think it's possible to buy/order these.
If Stockholm Stadion couldn't buy new ones for their facade,
then I think you might have a hard time as well.
Hello, interesting thought. But doesn't the stone become a bit too porous when you expose the surface inside the stone? They are located outside above the speech, a lot of water, frost, etc.

Yes, you should ideally not expose the surfaces by sawing or milling them..
Impregnating isn't a great idea either..

Impregnation is not ideal either..
Thanks. I read a bit about impregnation, seems a bit tricky. Possibly some cuts, then maybe moisture can still escape? I have some stones where smaller pieces have fallen off, these fracture surfaces are more porous. If I don't get more stone, could it be sensible to treat these? It feels like otherwise they will deteriorate even more soon.
No impregnation as it is so exposed..
A tip for better durability is to have full joints and not indented ones as you have today..
You have quite a few frost-damaged stones that need to be replaced and then a full repointing with a minimum depth of 25-30mm on the new joint..
It could be from Veberöd's brick factory if I'm not completely misinformed.
I myself have a house with hollow-edge bricks from Veberöd, though built in '71. And my great-grandfather worked at the brick factory, so it's not impossible that he made some of your bricks.
Unfortunately, I don't have any bricks left at the moment, but that might change, I'll shout out if that's the case and I remember this thread.

All contributions, be it 1 or 50 bricks, would be welcome!
