Where should we start? Total reno Basement lounge
Hello!
We have a typical "grotto" basement room in our sixties house. Everything needs to be replaced and torn out. The paneling on the walls and ceiling. The floor as well. We will remove all organic material against the outer walls, reframe, etc.
We are considering not tearing everything out at once but instead doing one thing at a time and fixing it before moving on to the next step. This is to avoid being overwhelmed by all the work when the room is just an empty shell.
But. If we, for example, fix the ceiling first, can we then remove the walls afterward, or will we damage the new ceiling if we do it this way? I'm feeling a bit slow here...

Tear everything down.....it becomes so much easier to build it up again. My experience says that it goes significantly faster as well.
Everything is connected in some way anyway.

That's what we're thinking too. That everything is connected. Just afraid it will feel like a bottomless pit we never have the strength to tackle....M Mangan i kax said:
