Hello,

I need to fix an outer corner on a lightweight concrete wall where the door frame used to be (see pictures). The question is what is best: metal corner bead, paper tape with metal, or regular paper tape for joints? I'm a bit uncertain because all the above options are said to be for drywall.

Thanks in advance!

  • Kitchen corner with exposed wall edge near door frame removal, showing light gray walls, wooden cabinets, and a white open door in a home interior setting.
  • Open doorway in lightweight concrete wall without doorframe; visible edges needing repair.
So-called corner profiles in metal/plastic that are attached with a few screws/nails and plastered in, make the corner more resistant to impacts and other things that can crack a corner if it is only plastered.

Ok, thanks for the answer. Do you know which screws would be suitable? Lightweight concrete screws are often very long and that wall is only 70 mm (the shortest lightweight concrete screw I could find is 65 mm). Is it maybe possible to glue instead?

Drill, insert plug, and cut off the screw if it is too long.
