Hi, I have skimmed through different threads about purchasing materials in Germany and also checked some of the mentioned sites.

And I'm not any wiser for it. ???
What is cheap vs. expensive? :-/

Everything seems expensive to me. Those of you who have purchased, please share what you've bought and would have bought.

Best regards, Jerry Gustafsson

Many of the German goods are cheaper due to the lower VAT (16%) and the high level of competition. In addition to the affordable beer, wine, and spirits, there are lots of items you can snag at a bargain.

Personally, I buy, for example, cleaning agents, fabric softeners, soap, shampoo, dishwasher detergent, etc.

If it’s construction-related, it would be: tiles, clinker bricks, wood stoves, electric hand tools, electrical cables, cable reels, kitchen and bathtub faucets, etc.
Price example: A 50-meter cable reel with rubber cable 3-conductor for: 168:- SEK :o.

One should also be aware that the selection is enormous, as those who have visited a German hardware store know.

If you're thinking of doing a big shop, you should also check out Poland, many Germans go there to buy all sorts of things. It's easier now that they're in the EU.

Sure, Poland is cheaper. But the language is a hell for most Swedes + many others.

Tiles & Clinkers are much cheaper in Germany than in Sweden. There you find many at our "sale prices".

have connections in the family from Estonia, planning to try to make a quick raid and order some stuff in the piping business I thought...

will return with reviews...

Tiles and klinker ... plus beer for the housewarming party.

Anyone who can recommend a website or site where I can check out tiles for a large construction project? I was thinking of going to Germany to shop considering the prices...
