Hi! I'm renovating a room in my apartment and I'm unsure how best to proceed with this wall (see picture). It's a concrete wall that previously had wallpaper, but now I've removed most of it.
I'm considering trying to soundproof it a bit, as quite a lot can be heard from the neighbors in the adjacent apartment. However, the room is quite small, so I'm afraid of building out too much.
I’ve heard of two options:
- Installing studs with insulation (e.g., mineral wool) and one or two layers of drywall.
- Applying two layers of drywall directly on the wall (with Green Glue or something similar in between?).
At the same time, I wonder if it's even worth it in such a small room? Is it better to just skim coat the wall and apply renovation wallpaper instead?
What would you experienced carpenters recommend in this case? Are there other solutions I should consider that don't build out too much but still dampen sound somewhat?
Thanks in advance for all the input!
