A concrete staircase has been cast for a newly opened entrance door.

1. I think the slope is too poor, as rainwater collects in some places, but the contractor naturally disagrees. Can I refer to any building code or standard that regulates this slope?

2. Is it possible to mill or grind the step surfaces to a good slope, or is there a risk of damaging the staircase?

3. They have cast an inclined ramp from the threshold to the landing outside. Is it okay to cast something like that directly against the threshold, which is made of wood?

4. The casting of the staircase was done in plus temperatures, but the day after it was minus seven degrees and the cold persisted for a week. I pointed out that they hadn't used winter concrete, and they applied a heating mat. After a week, a warmer period came. There are no visible defects in the casting now, a month later, but could there still be damage that isn't visible?

Thanks for the advice.

Just want to thank you for the thread, the pictures, and the story! Planning for similar work so it's helpful even 3 years later. How do you experience any smell?
