What outdoor projects are you doing this time of year?
Currently working on earthworks to be able to pour a 300m2 slab in the spring, I'm working as long as the weather allows.
The slab will be the foundation for our new house with an attached garage.
Two weeks ago, the basement foundation and chimney of the house that previously stood on the plot were demolished.
It's fun to operate the excavator

and I'm working on my carport, for the last 2 days I've been digging a trench (with a spade) for the cable for 2 embedded spotlights at the front of the carport. I made the rafters out of 4 mm plywood, cut 80mm wide and glued together. The construction itself is made of 120x120 iron profile.

Exciting rafters! Are they rounded on the outside too?saturnus said:
I have a bunch of outdoor chores and a bunch of indoor ones. So I do whatever the weather feels most suitable for.
But it has been about winterizing the buildings and the property. The chimney and the very last part of the roof were finished about a week ago. Gutters on the house and garage as well. I've also put up some siding last week. I take care of some wood and chopped down and turn it into firewood. I clean up everything that's annoying if it gets hidden in the snow. There's a little left.
On beautiful days with about +10° in the air, it's not at all unpleasant to work outside, especially if it's windless.

Could be fun to see some pictures from your projects, Mikael_LMikael_L said:I have a bunch of outdoor chores and a bunch of indoor ones. So I do whatever the weather feels most suitable for.

I take care of some lumber and cut down and convert it to firewood.
Clear away everything that's later annoying to have hidden in the snow. There's a bit left.

Yes, there is a slight curve on the entire roof, the plywood strips are 10 in number on each truss, could be a few more.Larsa said:
The roof boards are then packed together, glued and screwed to the trusses, all according to my own idea, as usual.
The 45x45s on the sides are drilled/tapped into the square metal bars = a lot of work, which the "ordinary" doesn't think about:blushing:
