We have an uninsulated sunroom where I'm thinking of putting up shelves. Or rather, a long wall shelf that goes under the windows, kind of like a windowsill. Now I'm considering what material I should use for it. Does MDF work or is it sensitive to moisture? It doesn’t rain in or anything, but it's cold in there when it's cold outside, so it has to withstand temperature differences and slightly more humid air than you have indoors. I'm going to paint it white, by the way, so I don't need to consider any aesthetic aspects in the choice of material.

But I don't know if they can handle temperature fluctuations, otherwise they are really good, you can get it as you want, just build...

I have shelves for garden tools in the bike shed.

ELFA tracks with shelf brackets and regular shelf boards that I bought at K-Rauta. The cheapest kind. They rest loosely on the shelf brackets and are completely untreated. Some shelves have bent slightly (weak u-shape), maybe 5 mm.

Painted/oiled or treated in another way and screwed in, they probably wouldn't be significantly affected by moisture.
