Hello! We are continuing with our renovation of a townhouse built in the 60s. Now we are tackling the living room walls (concrete) but behind the baseboard, there were some softer wall sections. It crumbles into a kind of black powder when touched and is mixed with brown "cork pieces" and around it is regular concrete.
What could this be? The black stuff almost looks like "charcoal," slightly shiny :) When you press your finger hard there, the material sort of breaks apart, very porous.
