Yes, I agree it's black mold, but I'm curious about the white color. It's a ceiling, and yes, the vent is very close to the tiled wall.

Looked at the pictures, forgot the headline and saw the black 🙈. But it could also be white mold, less likely it's gypsum since it has paper on the outside.
