Is this blåbetong? Can it contain asbestos?
A fragment of porous building material, possibly blue concrete, questioning potential asbestos content.

It is probably not asbestos but radon that is the problem with blåbetong. I cannot distinguish between blåbetong and regular lightweight concrete which is completely harmless.

Blue concrete is probably bluish-purple? Hence the name, and as mentioned above, it's radon one should consider in that case. No asbestos in this.

So my interior wall is either made of lightweight concrete or blue concrete? When drilling into it, blackish dust comes out.

Asbestos in this wall is something I don't need to worry about, right?

there may be other details in the wall that are asbestos.
if you are going to demolish, you should still use a mask like Sundström's and not disposable protection.

Will not demolish, will only put up some shelves.

but then it's a problem.
what were you planning to do if it was asbestos?

Does it look like "regular" lightweight concrete to you, but if you say it's dark gray/black when you drill into it, it sounds like blåbetong (which, by the way, is also lightweight concrete). I have regular lightweight concrete, and it is light gray when you drill into it.
If it is blåbetong, there is a risk of high levels of radon. A radon measurement is strongly recommended!

Hello,

If it does contain asbestos, I would probably not drill anything at all, just leave it, hence my question.

As I understand, it's not very likely that the wall contains asbestos? The apartment is from 1969!

if there were asbestos in the wall and you put up the shelf one day, it wouldn't matter. If you were to put up a shelf every day, then you would need to worry.

Not a high probability.

Drill shelves and have the vacuum cleaner on at the same time so the dust doesn't spread. Don't worry no matter how many holes you make.

The vacuum cleaner does not help against abest.

No, but against the dust :) It has already been established that there is a minimal risk of asbestos in a concrete wall?!

If you disregard asbestos for a moment and focus on the vacuuming itself, concrete dust isn't very good for household vacuum cleaners. It's better to tape an envelope or coffee filter just under the hole that collects what comes out. Of course, the excess has to be cleaned up with a broom or the vacuum cleaner.
